Speaking on Match Officials Mic’d Up (via the Premier League’s official website on 11 December), Howard Webb clarified his view on the incident, stating: “I think a yellow card should have been shown. He continued, emphasizing his disagreement with Webb’s stance: “I disagree with Howard Webb’s interpretation, which of course is subjective. The landing area of the boot on the opposing player, combined with Caicedo’s forward movement and the momentum of Sarr, was sufficient to warrant a red card.”
