Wirtz has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in European football, playing a pivotal role in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic 2023/24 campaign under Xabi Alonso. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester City are prepared to meet the German club’s valuation and have already taken concrete steps towards securing a deal. Guardiola is described as being deeply invested in the pursuit, labelling Wirtz his “great desire” and the “perfect” player to fill the creative void De Bruyne will leave behind.
