BREAKING: Red Sox Drop Bombshell, Officially Declare Jarren Duran Untouchable Amid Trade Whirlwind

Boston Red Sox star outfielder Jarren Duran has had his name come up in trade rumors as of late, but it isn’t from Boston’s end.

Major League Baseball insider Sean McAdam of MassLive reported that the Red Sox aren’t shopping Duran. However, the insider does note teams are calling about him, and Boston is listening to the offers.

“The Padres are not the only team to reach out and inquire about Duran, according to one MLB official. Sensing that the Red Sox are desperate to make room for the arrival of Anthony, those calls have intensified in recent weeks,” McAdam wrote. “But the industry source got the sense that while the Red Sox were willing to discuss Duran, the team was by no means shopping the outfielder.”

Although the Red Sox aren’t the ones calling teams about Duran, Boston is listening to the offers, which soon could lead to a trade. The San Diego Padres have been the most aggressive team after the outfielder, but some other teams could soon join the fray.

Duran was an All-Star in 2024 and is earning just $3.85 million this season and is under club control through the 2028 season.

The 28-year-old was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB Draft by Boston and made his debut in 2021. This season, Duran is hitting .274 with 4 home runs and 35 RBIs.
