BREAKING: Seattle Mariners Pull Off the Impossible—Land Red Sox Superstar Jarren Duran in Franchise-Altering Power Play

The Seattle Mariners could make a sneaky move at the trade deadline.

Bleacher Report named the Mariners to have the best trade package to acquire Boston Red Sox All-Star outfielder Jarren Duran.

A trade for Duran would pair him with former All-Stars Julio Rodriguez and Randy Arozarena and strengthen an offense that needs more thump.

In this trade proposal, Seattle would acquire Duran for right-hander Bryce Miller, second baseman Michael Arroyo (Mariners No. 4 prospect) and catcher Harry Ford (Mariners No. 5 prospect).

The Mariners are currently 32-27, half-a-game behind the Houston Astros for first place in the American League West.

Seattle’s offense is better than it has been in recent years, but it still lacks firepower despite Cal Raleigh having an incredible season.

The trade makes sense for both sides; Boston is in a tough spot and may want to part ways with Duran while his value is high, and Seattle has a loaded farm system that can acquire the team a star.

However, the Red Sox may not want Miller despite showing interest in him in the past. Miller is dealing with a bone spur in his right elbow, which could make Boston hesitant to pull the trigger on this trade.

Boston may not want Ford either, who is blocked by Raleigh in Seattle. The Red Sox have had quality play from Carlos Narváez and have had success with Connor Wong in the past.

These teams engaged in trade talks last season centered around Seattle’s influx of quality starting pitchers but couldn’t strike a deal.

It may take the Mariners switching Miller with Bryan Woo to make this deal go through, or Boston accepts Miller and buys into the future.
