That’s an almost unfathomably low number of walks. It’s also crazy that Kirby broke a record across more than 100 years of MLB by 11.5%.
The 27-year old Kirby was a first-round pick by the Mariners in 2019 out of Elon.
They knew he could be good, but even Seattle wouldn’t have expected such precision on the mound.
It’ll be hard for anyone in modern baseball to match what Kirby just did.
He could spend the rest of time atop this 100-games walks leaderboard, showing just how precise he has been with the baseball for his career so far.
