“This isn’t just a statue of a great football coach,” said Naperville Mayor Scott Wehrli. “It’s a tribute to the values of hard work, vision, and leadership—values that Sean Payton carried with him from this community all the way to the Super Bowl.”
The statue, crafted by acclaimed sculptor Julie Rotblatt-Amrany, captures Payton in a familiar pose: headset on, eyes scanning the field, play sheet in hand. The base of the sculpture reads:

From Rebuilding to Glory
Sean Payton’s NFL coaching legacy is most closely tied to his transformative tenure with the New Orleans Saints. Taking over as head coach in 2006, Payton faced the immense challenge of revitalizing a franchise and a city still reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
