Chicago Strikes Gold: White Sox Acquire Elly De La Cruz in a Stunning Power Play That Ignites Fan Frenzy

In the world of card collecting, there are few moments that triumph over pulling a one of one Superfractor from a top brand like Bowman Baseball.

To add to the allure, pulling one of the most electrifying players in baseball, Elly De La Cruz, would be one of the pinnacle feelings in the hobby. Cardkingbreaks experienced this feeling just days ago when they opened a pack of 2024 Bowman Baseball and pulled a rookie 1/1 Superfractor of the Reds phenom, Elly De La Cruz.

Elly is off to another great season, hitting .257 with 12 home runs, 43 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases. Last season, Elly was able to steal a whopping 67 bases, leading all of baseball. He is just in his third season in the league, and this Superfractor could be his very best sports card.

In September of 2024, one of his Topps Chrome rookie Superfractors from that year sold for a record setting $116,534 at Goldin Auction. The card was graded by PSA as a Mint 9/10 Auto, and remains the highest public sale for any De La Cruz card.

This sale is extremely notable, as it sets the market for what this Bowman Superfractor could do at auction. With the assumption that the card receives at least the same grade as the Topps Chrome card, the hobby could be seeing a $130,000-$175,000 price tag on this card. However, it is important to note that Bowman Baseball is more desirable to many baseball collectors, and that could bring a premium to this card, ultimately pushing the price even higher.

Cardbreakings did not just pull one of Elly De La Cruz’s best cards on Earth, instead they pulled a piece of history that could define the baseball card market for this generation.
