Braves Go Big: Atlanta Stuns MLB by Acquiring Bo Bichette from Toronto in Game-Changing $33 Million Blockbuster

The Atlanta Braves were supposed to be one of the best teams in Major League Baseball this season, but as of now, they are sitting with a losing record of 28-38.

Atlanta has already made some moves this season, with one being designating veteran shortstop Orlando Arcia for assignment.

The Braves haven’t been able to figure out shortstop ever since Dansby Swanson left for the Chicago Cubs last season.

Atlanta should try to make at least one more run at competing for a World Series, and adding a veteran shortstop could help.

Steven Teal from House That Hank Built thinks the Braves should try to trade for Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette.

“Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is a free agent after this season, and the Braves could trade for him at the deadline, assuming Toronto makes him available,” Teal wrote. “He could be another trade and extension candidate similar to Murphy/Olson. He’s a good offensive upgrade and plays solid defense. This would solve an offseason problem for Atlanta as well.”

Bichette has a batting average of .275 with 78 hits, eight home runs, and 38 RBI in 67 games played this season and would be a nice addition to the Braves.

Bichette is in the final months of his three-year, $33 million contract and is also a two-time All-Star, with his most recent appearance coming in 2023, so he knows what it takes to be one of the best players in the game.
