The Los Angeles Dodgers have a long and storied history.
They weren’t always in California, of course.

Why do the Dodgers’ hats have a B on them?
The Los Angeles Dodgers are honoring their history by wearing hats with a ‘B’ on them for Hall of Fame weekend.
These are the hats the Dodgers would’ve worn in their first era, when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Originally, the Dodgers name came because Brooklyn’s ball club was called the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers.
That was eventually shortened to Dodgers, with the white script ‘B’ on the royal blue caps.
The club played in Brooklyn through the 1957 season. In 1958, they became the L.A. Dodgers.
Some all-time greats played for Brooklyn, including the barrier-breaking Jackie Robinson. And the Dodgers haven’t forgotten that history.
